The final book of the Harry Potter series was truly a masterpiece! The beginning was quite dark and scary, but it added this sense of urgency that the trio needed to find and destroy Voldemort once and for all. Through the story, we meet new characters and read different tales of how other great wizards try facing Voldemort and failed. Rowling does a good job a describing the settings and makes you feel, like you are with Harry and his friends. The characters later discover that one can’t fight Voldemort alone, and that they would have to work together to defeat him. This is a very valuable lesson to people who aren’t magical like the characters. This made the story feel more real. I would recommend this book, and definitely the series. 5/5 stars @AnythingYellow14 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I personally prefer the movie, there’s something about that version that really brings out the magic of the story. I really think it’s a rarity that books are properly adapted into films and the movie impressed me. The book version falls a bit short in capturing my attention and does get a bit dull after a while of reading but it was still really enjoyable. The plot is fairly original and creative, the characters are unique and charismatic enough to be extremely memorable, and the setting is pretty cool. The character, Harry, is a very inspiring protagonist and I think he’s a good example for kids and teenagers alike. Anyway, give it a read if you’re into magical fantasy books and what not- have fun! 3/5 Stars. @Bloop of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board All round, an decent read. Pretty unpredictable as the main characters don't really seem what to do next like where to find the next horcrux (if you have no idea what that is you have to read the other books). Has some hidden WW2 resistance references such as secret radio stations and resistance groups. Has a bit of a thin plot but all round pretty good. 4 stars @mittopic of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It would have been Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s last year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but they aren’t going back. They have to complete the task that Dumbledore left for Harry at the end of his sixth year; find Voldemort’s horcruxes and destroy them. It is the only way they will be able to defeat the dark lord, as Harry knows neither him nor Voldemort can live while the other survives. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is thrilling, captivating, dark, and inspiring as all the loose ends of the series are tied together. Just when you think you have the story figured out, J.K. Rowling is still able to surprise you in this novel. This book is definitely a mature read, but I would highly recommend reading it if you enjoyed the other Harry Potter novels. If you liked Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, then you will definitely love Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I would have to rate this novel five out of five stars. @Sapphirereads of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
