Summary

The third book in the Library Lover's Mystery Series showcases a pirate-themed plot. Lindsey, the library director is dating Sully, local tour boat captain, when the close-knit town greets two unexpected and unwelcome visitors. The first is a salvage company, who hopes to be granted a permit to look for Captain Kidd's buried treasure on one of the local islands. Tension builds between those hoping the move will bring a boost to local tourism and those who want to preserve the environmental sanctity of the island. This is especially true when the island in question has an ominous history; the family that lived there had been murdered and the cabin set ablaze and the father never found. Once the salvage company has access to the island, things go downhill quickly after the body of local tourism director is found down an excavation shaft. The other surprise visitor to the island is Lindsey's ex-husband John, who rents a house on the shore for the summer in hopes of wooing Lindsey back. Soon John is swept into solving the murder with Lindsey and Sully, and by the end of the summer Lindsey will have made a decision whether reunite with John or stay with Sully.
