(review as posted to Goodreads, user name Joan, from Stratford Ont.) This is a good story, mixed with typical Maisie self-obsession (why does the author do this to the character?). Maisie does make some progress in overcoming her impulse to fix everyone's life, so maybe things will improve -- but I won't count on it. I'm giving this book four stars, which is 3-3.5 stars for the story itself and another half or even whole star for the brilliant, troubling, and eerily timely conversation near the end, where the person indirectly responsible for what happened tells his story.
