I remember a version of the milieu this film was made in. Mine was Albuquerque, New Mexico. A place where a great many people were familiar with Austin and some even idealised Austin. Then there were those who just hated Texas. Yeah, it is not only New Yorkers who profess a long and abiding dislike of the Lone Star state and their claims for having created salsa. Slackers themselves? The film's ostensible subject? Yeah, sorry, but laying back has never been a strategy for me. The film itself? It's narrative device of handing off the narrative at every intersection to passing strangers, so to speak? Interesting. But I just wish the people had something to say. Well, something to say that was interesting to me.
