Oogy

the Dog Only a Family Could Love

Oogy – The Dog Only A Family Could Love was written for those of us who love our dogs. Oogy is not a Pit Bull as one would conclude from his picture on the cover; he is a little known breed to North Americans, a Dogo. As many reviewers have already stated, Oogy is one amazing dog. I see many similarities between Oogy and my wonderful Border Collie. My main concern with Larry Levin’s book was that we barely read a thing about Oogy for the first 75 pages while the author describes the adoption of his twin boys and as another reviewer suggested, some facts are repeated a few times in the book. Still, this book does describe a remarkable family and a remarkable local Veterinarian and staff who originally save Oogy’s life and then provide free services for his care for the rest of his life. The love shared between the author Larry Levin and Oogy just leaps out of the pages at you. I challenge readers to get through this book without having a teary eye at one point or another.
