The Sea of Monsters is the sequel to the popular bestselling novel, Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. In this adventure, Percy finds his world at the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood turned upside down, when his best friend Grover goes missing it's up to him and his friends to journey to the Sea of Monsters to save them all. As far as sequels go, Sea of Monsters is by far a great follow-up. There is the familiarity of old and loved characters Percy, Annabeth, and Grover with the new addition of Tyson to stir up the new adventure. Though it may not have been my first time reading this novel, it definitely still had that excitement and magic as if I were. 4.5 Stars - @Ruby_Tuesday of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The Sea of Monsters is a great 2nd in the great 5 part series. The characters grow up and as they head into their teenage years the readers learns how living in a world with Greek Gods affect the youth. We see more of Percy Jackson and meet his half brother, Tyson, a Cyclops. This has a great impact on Percy and his image of himself. We also discover Annabeth and her time before Camp-Halfblood with Thalia and Luke. This book really steps up the game on an emotional side. There are many moments where the reader really feels for our main protagonists. - @TRBB99 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
