The pandemic ruined the planned release of this very well-made film based on a true story. I got tired of waiting and streamed it on Red Box for five bucks. It is one of very few films that I would have gladly paid full admission price had the theaters not closed.

Really enjoyable. Fan of Guy Pearce and love most of his work. Really makes you think about the Vermeers out there in the galleries...authenticity. Acting from Claes Bang to be commended as well. Good drama piece.

I came into this movie with low expectations, thinking it would be slow and boring. But, I was pleasantly surprised. This movie is dramatic & intense, with a bit of mystery. And I really like movies based on real events, especially with history I never knew! The storyline was pretty fascinating & intriguing. And both Claes Bang & Guy Pearce give great performances, too. I recommend this DVD, and I can see why it has a high amount of holds.

Quite enjoyable. Loved Guy Pearce's flamboyant portrayal of van Meegeren. Keep in mind many real events have been significantly changed in the movie. For example, the last 45 minutes (when the trial begins) is almost complete fiction.
