Oh my goodness, not going to lie but this book was a lot better than the first!! If you didn't like the first, I still think this one is worth pushing for. Henrietta, the protagonist, is a strong female characters who's heart leads her into a lot of trouble. But in a city where magic is rampant and monsters in all the shadows, she must find confidence in those she can trust. But WHO? The way this book ended was dramatic and good, but now I can't wait for the nest book!!

First of all I just want to say OMG. I was super excited going into this because I had been waiting for the sequel forever! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say there were a few plot lines that I saw coming (the whole Maria thing). also black wood was acting really odd through out the book. im not sure if it was a set up for the next one or what but I didn't like it at all. and then we have Rook... yeah I'm not even going to tough that. Also the whole plot with the evil being.... mind blown. why do I have to wait for the next book!!! I want it now!!! *throws myself on the floor*

Not as good as the first book, but it's readable.
