My wife and I have three married daughters and, currently, seven grandkids, five who are girls, with another baby on the way! How could I NOT BE surprised, but glad to read of the latest "Mighty Thor", who was selected by the hammer, Mjolnir-- "Whoever holds this hammer, if [s]he be worthy, shall possess, the power of...THOR", to become the next one after the Odinson no longer believes himself to be worthy to lift and gain the power of the hammer. Great concept and a truly high level of drama (bonds formed quickly, betrayals thrust deeply), action, suspense, conflicts, and battles for her to face, head on!She is as strong, brave, beautiful, but fierce, intelligent, yet not nearly so easily fooled as Odinson often was by his half-brother, Loki. Jason Aaron's narrative is well written and Daughterman's art is also quite good, although I truly liked the work of Esad Ribic even more; his artistry is so masterful and more painterly in style, but it excels in his painterly style, using chiaroscuro, the absence of ink outlines, wonderful perspective, yet plenty of the expected level of well-muscled form for Odinson and dramatic use of line and color, to still convey the right level of imagery for super hero narratives. I am truly looking forward to the next TPB installment!

A decent story with good art. Looking forward to seeing where they go with this.

My favorite part of this arc is when Thor is fighting Odin. Every girl who has ever been spurned by a potential father in law will feel every blow she rains down on Odin with her hammer. Marvel has successfully given Jane Foster the mantle while they have not entirely forgotten about the original God of Thunder. This however is her story and not his and it's a pretty good story. I don't think I've read one bad Jason Aaron story ever and he doesn't disappoint here.

This is the first I've read of Jane Foster as Thor. What a great character! Beautiful artwork and wonderful writing with a subtle subtext on gender.

I enjoyed Loki's shiftiness, Asgardian intrigue and a Thor/Odin brawl. I also liked the contrast between Jane-as-Thor and Jane's real life, where she is sick and frail. The art is great, too. Good volume!

I loved this graphic novel. The goddess Thor is amazing. She is fighting cancer and is in immense pain, but when she turns into Thor all she worries about is saving people. The art is beautiful.
