Anger rages in Philip as he awaits the publication of his second novel. He feels pushed out of his adopted home city by the constant crowds and noise, a deteriorating relationship with his photographer girlfriend Ashley, and his own indifference to promoting the novel. Very smart movie. I liked the narrator voiceover. Such a unique & introspective independent film.

Not a feel good video.
Jason Schwartzman playing a jerk is too easy. The hard parts are the other actors trying to make you feel bad for having to being around him, they fail.

Not that characters need be likeable, but I should care about them...and I just didn't (with the exception of Ashley). There were some genuinely funny and heartbreaking bits, but most of the time I was bored. The camera-work was a little frustrating at times, darting around like a fly, and the narration was interesting but didn't happen often enough that it felt consistent. The character of Philip seemed like a Max (Rushmore) all grown up and having learned nothing. It felt longer that the hour and 49 minutes that it was, but I would recommend watching the deleted scenes, as they added some depth to the characters that was otherwise missing.
