"#1 New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag delivers a shocking new thriller...Dana Nolan was a promising young TV reporter until a notorious serial killer tried to add her to his list of victims. Nearly a year has passed since surviving her ordeal, but the physical, emotional, and psychological scars run deep. Struggling with the torment of post-traumatic stress syndrome, plagued by flashbacks and nightmares as dark as the heart of a killer, Dana returns to her hometown in an attempt to begin to put her life back together. But home doesn't provide the comfort she expects. Dana's harrowing story and her return to small town life have rekindled police and media interest in the unsolved case of her childhood best friend, Casey Grant, who disappeared without a trace the summer after their graduation from high school. Terrified of truths long-buried, Dana reluctantly begins to look back at her past. Viewed through the dark filter of PTSD, old friends and loved ones become suspects and enemies. Questioning everything she knows, refusing to be defined by the traumas of her past and struggling against excruciating odds, Dana seeks out a truth that may prove too terrible to be believed...--

I am glad that I borrowed this book from the library instead of purchasing it. I could not finish the book. The characters were shallow & trite, and the writing was poor (way too many trivial "like" similes).

Excellent read. I guessed the real killer quickly but there was enough intrigue & red herrings to make me question my decision at several points during the story.
The characters become very real & complex.
Well, well worth the read!

no shortage of drama in this book. It was a quite a bit far fetched but I still had difficulty putting it down. I liked it.

Dark, fast paced, complex characters. A bit predictable but still a good read.

I normally don't read mystery fiction, however, I needed something to read and Tami Hoag's name was familiar.
I really liked this book, at least it kept me engrossed and coming back for more - to finish it to see "who done it"!
Good read! I plan to read more of this author!

Dana Nolan has survived a terrible ordeal and is working her way back to "normal". She becomes involved in what actually happened when her best friend disappeared. Is she prepared for the answers? I know I was not. A page turner as only Hoag can deliver.

Tami Hoag usually holds my interest, but this one was very boring and long on words

Another great book by Tami Hoag. I've read every one of her books and she never disappoints.

It was a good book. Not up to the standard of the author.
