From Oscar? nominated director John Sayles comes an electrifying and vivid rock 'n' roll fable. When Tyrone, owner of the Honeydripper lounge, is faced with having to shut down his juke joint, his hopes rest on one man-the famous Guitar Sam. It's a make or break weekend for the Honeydripper, this better be some Saturday night! With exquisite performances by Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton, Stacy Keach, Mary Steenburgen and Sean Patrick Thomas; and featuring musicians Keb' Mo' and Dr. Mable John-Honeydripper is an award winning film, full of great music and plenty of soul.

I enjoyed the movie and a reminder to all, of what those who abuse their authority do to others and just how wrong it is to judge a book by its cover;the guy who played guitar and everyone rejected in the beginning, was actually the one who saved the lounge from shutting down.
Sometimes people really need to look at themselves in the mirror and readjust their attitude.

LOVELY sceneries, BEUTIFUL CHARMING FILM & Execellent endeavor of a man & music, ressurecting a deamed society from eternal deminse, exposing human exploitation by wicked system.

Unfortunately I found this movie to be really slow. The music doesn't really get good till the last 15 minutes, by which point you don't care anymore. Great actors in a poorly paced movie!
