A chilling psychological thriller that explores the menacing evil behind the glittering facades of Manhattan's skyscrapers
Kay Norris, a successful and lovely book editor, moves into the posh Carnegie Hall district of Manhattan, into an apartment in a slender high-rise. A man watches her. He watches her unpack, watches her make her bed. He owns the building: a shocking secret is concealed within its brick and concrete. "Sliver" is a sinuous erotic thriller, a hypnotic story of obsession, suspense, and stunning surprises. It is a novel about the ultimate power, and the temptations the use of that power brings.

I saw the film and didn't see any connection with the book. Is it only me? And the monikers "HORROR", or "EROTIC" are really a selling strategy for a book that is, for the first half of the flimsy opus, pseudo intellectual psycho babble if not just plain "filler". The second half is better. Something is at last happening. The conclusion is botched. I mean, really... talk about the blank page. It worst than saying that " the butler did it". Really man, I LOL so much. It almost felt like a vaudeville slapstick comedy routine.

Very interesting plot premise on just how private our lives in a high rise are when the manager has a key - and other options for observation.
From author of Rosemary's Baby and The Boys from Brazil.
