This romantic drama stars Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Nat Wolff, and Michael Sheen through the ups and downs of love. Portia Nathan is an Princeton admissions officer who visits an alternative high school when she meets who could possibly be the child that she put up for adoption many years ago. This causes her to reflect on her morals and begin bending the rules. This movie was more of a comedy that I was expecting with a kind of quirky storyline which took away from some of the potential to explore real-life topics and emotions. I would watch this movie again, but simply because it has some of my favourite actors in it. I would rate this movie 3.5/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

We were looking for a "good enough" light hearted movie for a week night. This certainly filled that role. Fun to see Lily Tomlin as Tina Fey's mom. Cute moments between Paul Rudd and Tina Fey.

Had low expectations and they were met, not exceeded (sometimes these types of movies do that!). Good cast and some funny lines (especially Martin Sheen) but too much placed on romance and stupid plot. Had potential but never filled it.

Likeable actors: Fey, Rudd, Tomlin but the story is not very good. It's probably bc the lead character isn't very likeable and is presented as so robotic that it's hard to really feel invested in her story.

Decent enough, albeit with subtle humour well-delivered by comedy pros-Fey & Rudd. Everything else aside from a couple of specific lines from Michael Sheen was as one might expect. Not annoying, but not memorable either. Would love to see a comedy written by Tina Fey, starring her and Paul Rudd though.

Run-of-the-mill romantic comedy finds Tina Fey looking mostly bored.

Portia Nathan: You all want to know the secret formula for getting in. To do your job well, an admissions officer must be on the receiving end of an entire nation's application panic, endure the frustration of all the parents who just realized there isn't room for every organically-fed, well-tutored offspring. Of course everyone thinks we're sadists, that we like saying no. We are in this job for one reason, to say yes.
