Sprawling epic, authentic feel, memorable characters; ultra romantic. I just found the writing itself a bit pedestrian though. I also recommend seeing the 1984 HBO miniseries available on DVD! Terrific locations, scenery, excellent cast (Amy Irving is stunning)
