Sometimes you can only feel something by its absence. By the empty spaces it leaves behind.

Comment
Add a CommentThe beginning and the end of the book are exciting. The middle is really boring. The book was okay, but due to the ending now I will have to read the next book to see what happens.
I was just reminded of Daya's song "Love of My Life" when thinking about what to write here. ("....But I'm looking for the love of my liiiiiife..."). But anyways, what if you thought you found your soulmate? You got to spend a brief time together, then 'poof" and everything has to go back to the way it was before. Would you pursue what you thought you had? Or move on pretending it never mattered (that much) and you would find someone else eventually. Basically, that's what one girl has to decide here. After spending a brief time with some boy who changed her in Paris, she contemplates her emotions on a journey to find him, all while trying to find herself. 4/5 stars

Allyson goes to Paris with a Stranger name Williem. they fall in love and they make love and one day Allyson wakes to only realizes that he is not there anymore. Now the Gayle Forman takes you in a journey where Allyson is searching for someone she can't stop thinking about, she might even that he is her true love.
"Why are you making a bucket list then?"
"Because if you wait until you're really dying, it's too late."
Haven't read YA OR a romance in awhile so this one fit the bill, especially with the travel element added in. The middle bits were a bit boring, but both the beginning and end were strong. I've already picked up the second after that cliffhanger though!
If you only read 1 epic teen romance in the next 5 years, this (and the companion books) should be it.
Although this book seems to have gotten an over all good review, I do not agree. I felt that the book dragged on after the "one day". I almost stopped reading it because I felt that many aspects of the book were unesisary and didn't add to the climax of the book. A matter of fact, I don't feel that there ever was a climax reached. And the ending... It upsets me that I have to read another book to find out what happens. I want to read a sequel because I want to be in that world the author created longer and go on another adventure with those characters. Not to find out the end (which in my opinion was unfinished) of the first book.
Very good read! highly recommend Just One year and Just One Night as well.
LITERALLY BEST BOOK EVER!! i loved it so much and definitely recommend it. I'm reading the sequel right now and dying to know what happens!!!
Great coming of age story. After you read this one, check out the sequel.
