The first half has some eye-opening information. The second half bogs down.

Inside jokes - using humour to reverse-engineer the mind

The book was reverse engineering jokes, dissecting them explaining them, analysing them, philosophising about them
and sounding like art aficionados who like to dissect a painting
at the level of brush strokes
and try to tell us what the artist was thinking and feeling when such and such a brush
stroke was chosen.
