My children love this story so much. They are always interested in every details of monkey George's story and learn a lot of useful lessons.

For ages 3-5. When little monkey George is brought from the jungle into the city, his curiosity about all the new things around him gets him into trouble.

I always feel funny reading this story to my child. It has a rather graphic kidnapping scene, a monkey smoking a pipe, & getting thrown in jail. Definitely a classic, but I find myself skimming over the less appropriate pages.

Who can't love a story about an insatiably curious monkey? Granted it's dated- hard to explain to my child why a monkey is smoking a pipe. And the man with the Yellow Hat is the most negligent pet owner ever. However, if you skip reading this through the lens of today's social norms, you'll find a light hearted story that the child in all of us can enjoy.

My son loved this book. He watches the television show on PBS and has seen both of the Movies, yet somehow, the book really kept him! He's a bit easy to distract too, so I was impressed! Great job R.A. Rey!

At one point in this story, it shows a picture of George smoking a pipe (with smoke, not bubbles, coming from the pipe), and says something along the lines of, "after a good pipe, George goes to sleep."

Curious George makes a lot of mistakes because he likes to go on adventures and be independent, but he has a good heart and always tries to do the right thing, so no one stays mad at George for too long.

curious george is in africa and a guy in a yellow shirt picks him up and takes him on a ship to the zoo but curious george goes overboard and the sailors save him , he gets put in a prison by the fire department and when he is released he goes to the zoo (he was put in prison because he called the fire department and there was no fire ). by michael
