Add a CommentThis was one of the most interesting "what if" type of stories I've read. The whole concept was riveting and drew me in quickly. Most of all, however, the characters drove this book. I can't imagine trying to write about two different people with different personalities sharing the same body. Looking forward to the next one!
The topic of the human soul (in this case, souls) is always really interesting and that's I was hooked by this novel. It was a good read
I felt that the beginning to the story was a little slow. I wasn't sure if I was going to get into it or not. I ended up liking how it finally started to unfold and will be reading the second book
This is a great book and I read it in one sitting. I find the idea somewhat more interesting than the story, but I love the story as well. I am very excited for the next book in the series and would recommend this book to anyone who likes the description- it fits pretty well.
I wasn't entirely interested in the storyline (the idea of two people in one person's body was a bit 'meh' to me) but it was well written and kept my attention.
A good read, although the beginning drags a bit. Since this is the first book in a series, I'm glad that not everything was tied up too neatly but the end still felt like an ending and leaves room for the series to go forward. The Hally character seemed to be a significant character at the start, but we never really get to know her & throughout the middle section, the character practically fades from the book. I wanted to know more about things from her point of view. I'm looking forward to reading this series!
A fabulous read with a really interesting concept!
"In this intriguingly original novel's alternate America, every person is born with twin souls in a single body, souls that take turns controlling the body's movements as they learn and grow together. But where most children have one soul that "settles," or disappears as the stronger personality takes over, teenaged Eva and Addie are still both very much present in their single vessel - and Eva must hide to keep them safe. When Addie/Eva's secret is exposed, they're taken away to a treatment facility, where they'll have to escape in order to survive. First in a projected series, What's Left of Me is an intensely thought-provoking read that grapples with ethics, identity, and prejudice and should entice fans of Mary E. Pearson's The Adoration of Jenna Fox." Teen Scene December 2012 Newsletter http://www.nextreads.com/Display2.aspx?SID=5acc8fc1-4e91-4ebe-906d-f8fc5e82a8e0&N=576688
Looking for your next good dystopian read? Well look no further than this captivating and chilling novel by Kat Zhang! In Eva and Addie's world every human is born with two souls. As a child, the souls grow by leaning to speak and walk. Eventually however one of the souls becomes the dominant soul and the other soul fades away.
Not in the case of Eva and Addie.
Eva is declared to have faded but she is still there. Eva and Addie are a hybrid and hybrids are not welcome in society. But Eva wants to live, and will have to find a way to be present with out risking both her and Addie's life.
Check out the trailer- and make sure you take a second look at that book cover!
