3 books (all out)

It's a fun fast paced story that broken up by characters. One of the characters seems a bit misplaced, and a doubt forms as to what they will actually gain for the cost.

I haven’t read a story quite so unsettling in a long time. The premise is simple: the Detonations have destroyed the world but some people made it into the Dome, where they escaped the Apocalypse unmarked. But outside the Dome, people live scarred and melded with the items that were around them when the bombs went off. Pressia was holding her doll and her fist is now made up of the doll’s head. Other people have glass or metal or animals melded into them. This book is shocking in its simplicity – the story unfolds because it couldn’t unfold any other way. The writing is marvellous, you don’t even notice the phrases or sentences as you read them, you simply are part of the story. This story and the characters stay with you a long time after you are finished reading. I’m glad that there will be another novel in the series. (submitted by SB)

This book is the kind of book that you have to read a lot of before you get captivated into the book. It was boring at the start though it got more interesting as I read more. Its about a girl that turns 16 and she ether gets to become a soldier or be used as target practice. Then before she knows it she is running from her destiny. she meets a pure from the outside world and then they are both running from there future. You will like this book if you like fantasy books.

One of the best books I have read. The world that Julianna creates and the details she put into the world after the Detonations. I feel in love with every character and their story. I would highly recommend this novel. EF

While this book had many interesting qualities...like the fusing of humans to their environment. I felt the author took too long to get to certain aspcts of the story. I was intrigued, I doubt I will read the sequel. I just sort of lost interest towards the end.

Kinda s weird (in a good way book). It is a futuristic book and maybe not my favorite but still kept my interest.

This is the start of a trilogy. If you enjoyed the 'Cinder' or 'Hunger Games,' you're sure to enjoy this one too. An alternate world is created when a detonation either kills or maims those who survived. Anyone who was in the dome, remains 'pure' and was not affected by the blast. When Partridge, a 'pure' escapes from the dome, he meets Pressia, a survivor from outside the dome. The world is about to change and these characters are to play a big part in that. I enjoyed the character development but found the end a bit rushed. Still, I enjoyed this book and will look for the next in the series.

This is an engrossing read...be sure to clear your calendar for a couple of days because you will NOT be able to put it down once you get started.

Very well-written; the prose is powerful and visually stimulating. This author is adept at bringing the characters to life, vividly, with compelling storytelling and visceral imagery.

I loved this book; I've read it twice. I'm still amazed it hasn't yet received the type of mainstream recognition it so richly deserves. If you enjoyed the Hunger Games series of books, add Pure to your reading list.

we know you are here, brothers and sisters.
We will, one day emerge from the Dome to join you in peace.
But for now we watch from afar, benevolently.
