Always an enjoyable read.
The Stone Barrington series wears thin enough to see daylight through. The characters get to hobnob with the rich, famous and powerful which is an entirely different sort of novel than the earlier, already indifferent Stone Barrington et al character-set of yesteryear. Probably time Stuart Wood found himself another set of off-the-shelf plots and characters to fill his bank accounts and keep him on the best seller lists.
First five chapters, each about 3 pages, establish the interlocking relationships between multiple characters, all rich and beautiful for whom I had no interest. Stopped reading and went on to something better.
Did I miss something or did we not find out who killed Herbie's new aunt Adele Lansdown, who got killed in her home before a dinner party.
If I missed this, would somebody please tell me who killed poor Adele.
I am assuming it was Herbie's new wife and (maybe?) her brother but I don't remember anywhere in the book being made concretely aware of the identity of the killer.
A Stone Barrington novel that went a little deeper than most! I'll always grab the latest Stuart Woods, but like James Patterson, some lack the depth of his earlier novels.
an aging Stone Barrington seems to be slowing down a bit .. still you gotta love him!

For now, I will just say this. . . ----
It is a good read: I'm waiting for a few of my friends to read it. So we can chat first. ----
There is a big hole in what is going on with Will Lee and his wife!! ----
As par with Mr. Woods writing, this is a good read. ---- But!, the brief statement that will Lee is out of office and his wife is also out of work: was a terrible short cut. ----
Where is that story?? ----
So the story of this book was lacking. ---- Brief thrills. ----
Note: The Seattle Public Library does not have these three -Woods Novels- - -
1. White Cargo; 2. Choke; 3. Imperfect Strangers.
The 19th Woods novel featuring quasi-secret agent and lawyer Stone Barrington.
