The origin stories plus some new material. Heavy on historical events from World War II, Cold War, McCarthy hearings, Haight Ashbury, etc. I prefer a more cohesive novel such as the later Wild Card series, and not an intro to each character and how they got there. But they have to start somewhere I guess and it's pretty good.

Easy quick read. Most of the stories were good. I think they could they traveled to present day a little quickly. They could have spent more time developing how the virus spread.
