Starmore is the most sophisticated designer of "North Sea" knitting. Her Fair Isles are gorgeous, but I think these Arans are even lovelier. One is much more likely to actually tackle one of these!

Great book, very inspiring. Well researched history of Aran knitting--dispels all the myths. The sweaters are for an advanced knitter. Best feature is the catalog of stitches. They are arranged by type and so well described that in addition to using them as is, you could use them as a jumping off point to create your own.
