An excellent, nail-biter of a film with a desperate scenario that is played out in three different ways, each time with completely different outcomes. Despite the repetition inherent in such a format, I found myself engrossed and rooting for the protagonist.

Is someone kidding me!?!
What? Did someone pay you guys to rate this high, or is living in the 4th dimension now considered normal? Maybe there's a biased belief that it must be good if it's foreign...
OK. The MAIN thing, right from the beginning, is that the entire movie is based on something that could not have possibly happened, so the film couldn't even exist. (It's really easy Producer: If you want to make a film, set the foundation in concrete.) No matter what; that guy would not have "forgotten" about the bag containing the DM100,000 in cash! NO MATTER WHAT! That's even before considering that the money belonged to a killer, that he had to give it to. In fact, I submit, he would have never let it out of his hand, even if he did help the guy up off the floor. (Note to filmmakers: It's so easy to set that part up correctly in the beginning.) However, the entire movie also takes place in a surreal world, where everyone is stealing, or beating up, or cheating on everyone else. (It does reflect the European -and especially German- outlook. If no one hasn't noticed, European films are in general not as uplifting as American films, especially older ones, and I've watched 1000s of films, many of which are foreign.) The physical actions (e.g. the clock exploding from one of the lead characters many screams.) are fanciful too, as are the reactions from many characters in given situations. Since it's not taking place in a "real" world, there is no suspense or anticipation of what could happen. (Not ideal for a "Chase" movie.) And all cards are off the table, since it isn't consistence with itself either.
All of this is more than enough to ruin a potentially good thriller, but if the above wasn't enough, having to keep listening to the lead character scream, just to get her way, was probably the worst part. Oh yes, the lead characters are not likeable either, so throw that in there too!

If you were putting together a time capsule of 90s films, 1998's "Run Lola Run" ("Lola Rennt" in German) would be in there. It was one of those hyper-kinetic, visually in your face, heavily soundtracked films like "Pulp Fiction," "Go," "Fight Club," and, especially, "Trainspotting." It's still entertaining, mostly due to Franka Potente (I always wished she was in more.), but very much of its time. Director Tom Tykwer and Potente would do one more film together, "The Princess and the Warrior."

An action movie that's also thought provoking! Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run) is for both the casual and analytical movie enthusiast (plenty of guns and plenty of symbolism). It's unique, it's intriguing, and it has something engaging to say about what it means for a person to have control over their own life.

A heart-pounding film that doesn't depend on car chases, gun fights, or CGI. With a collection of interesting characters, a series of deftly-interconnected scenarios, and a throbbing soundtrack, this is a film to raise your heart rate and keep you thinking, and a movie that could never come out of Hollywood. Well cast and well acted, in addition. A half star lost for being too short.

An absolutely fascinating movie. I loved it, the story, the characters, the twists and turns (no pun intended).

Kinda of a pointless movie but well done for what it is. Interesting and different.
