I did not read this book so i did not rate it. I am a 76 year old male who had my prostate removed 2007. Due to early detection with annual PSA tests I did not have to have chemo or radiation. My prostate was removed with the Davinci Robotic method. My surgeon was supposed to be one of the best in eastern Kansas.
the doctor did not discuss side effects, instead handed me a book to read. I waited 30-60 days to decide to go under the knife. The post op pain was much less than the 2 hernia surgeries I had in the 1990's.My sphincter was damaged and I have excessive leakage .I wear Depends diapers with an extra pad which must be changed 3-4 times per day. Alcohol and coffee runs right thru me. I was too late for the "WATCH AND WAIT" which was recommended for men my age later on. i have erectile disfunction but i guess that comes with age. We are inundated with ads for e.d. pills. They just won't let us forget our youth. I have heard that if the prostate cancer gets in your bones it is very painful. Good luck to all those men confronted with the "MALE CURSE".
