Having struggled to find success since the start of the Cold War, a covert British spy ring known as the Department attempts to prevent the Soviet Union from installing missles on the East German border. However, the inexperience exhibited by the Department's new recruits may serve to undermine the mission and jeopardize the stability of the free world.

I liked this spy thriller CD. The violence is subtle but present. Perhaps, it is too graphic for children. The sexual aspects are subtle and present too. Le Carré, John did a great job with the script writing this story. The script has lots of surprises to keep you interested. You may feel some sympathy for the characters in the story like I did. I like John as an author. A biography about him I watched said he was actually a spy in his life. According to the biography his scripts are based on facts with the fake names of people and places. It is supposed to represent what it is really like to be a spy.
