The scope of this story is quite impressive. I loved the unicorn time-travelling with Charles Wallace and the fact that they mostly stayed in the same "where." Meg is not mobile in this one, but is telepathically with Charles Wallace. She learns things about her mother-in-law's past and gains a new understanding. Along the way, can a might have been be brought to be that can save the world from Mad Branzillo?

Took a point off for narration. L'Engle just does not have the best voice for bringing her own books to life.

This book is one of my childhood favorites, and in particular my favorite from its series. However, as Calgovin says, sometimes the author isn't always the best voice actor. Madeleine L'Engle isn't bad per se, but has a couple annoying voice tics, like the tendency to do the Valley Girl lilt at the end of sentences (so the sentence sounds like a question, even though it is a statement. Annoying to me.) But not intolerable.

I love these stories, they are from my childhood -however... the author is not always the best person to read their story.
