Older and more powerful than the gods themselves, the Endless are a dysfunctional family of cosmic beings that have ruled over the realms of dream, desire, despair, destiny, destruction, death, and delirium since the beginning of time. But three hundred years ago, one of the mythical beings gave up his duties and left his realm, never to be seen again. Now on a mission to find their missing sibling, Delirium and older brother Dream encounter immortal humans and various deities as they try to locate the prodigal Destruction. But as their adventure draws Dream into a final, tragic confrontation with his son Orpheus, the eternal being learns the true meaning of fate and consequences.

I think this might be my favorite of all of the volumes I've read so far.

It hurt and it made me sad just thinking about the Endless never seeing their prodigal brother ever again.

But it was such a pleasure to see Delirium and Destruction. Those two would have been my favorites if they were around a lot more often as they were in this volume.

APL Ruiz's resident authority on comics has called Watchmen "the Citizen Kane of graphic novels" and I agree it's a staggering achievement, but I now think The Sandman reaches farther and deeper.

A fascinating and epic addiction to the Sandman saga!

Features Dream's long lost and intriguing brother, Destruction!

Loved it! :) I love love love Delirium! All of the Endless are pretty amazing in their own ways, but Delirium is one of the funnest! It's always interesting getting to learn more about their story!

I was very impressed with the visuals in this one. Jill Thompson's drawings really bring the characters to life, and I appreciated the restraint on the horror elements. Delirium's realm, (Delirium's hair!) the word balloons, the almost monochromatic pages with Ishtar, starry skies . . . great stuff.

Volume 7 of the collected Sandman series tells the story of Dream and his sister Delirium on a quest to find a missing member of the 'Endless Family'. It is a more straightforward story which I enjoyed, but was not as fascinating as volumes 5 and 6. Delirium is a crazy goddess that provides a lot of laughs due to her childlike non-sequitar mannerisms. Readers will finally get to meet all the Endless in this volume. Good reading; highly recommended for mature readers.
