Being a teen who is already obsessed with and knows pretty much knows everything to know about makeup, this book didn't teach me much. But, I did really enjoy reading this. Any young beauty enthusiast would like this book.... even though most of the tips are quite well known by now (this book was published in 2003), there are a couple of gems, and things that I'm happy I have learned about. I now know how to make fake scabs, how to get a fresh, dewy look on your eyelids by using something practical, and the truth - well, something I think we all know to be true, but don't want to admit - about concealer. Having someone SAY it is a lot more convincing than just letting it hang around in the back of your mind forever. Anyways, I really liked this book. The tutorials were the slightest bit too repetitive (instead of saying 'apply powder' every time, they could've dedicated one page at the beginning of the chapter explaining how to start off every single makeup look instead of making us read it over... and over.. and over again!), but that doesn't affect the quality of the book very much. I loved how they explained to us how to make some of the makeup products they were talking about - and yeah, most girls nowadays know how to make most of those recipes by heart - but, again, a couple were interesting, and gave me some inspiration to be creative. A+!
