Add a CommentTragedy porn at its finest, great cinematography though. Way, way, way too long and meandering!
Academy award film includes excellent behind the scenes documentary.
This film contains one of the most romantic scenes in movie history and you'll know it when you see it.
I truly enjoyed this novel and the movie-excellent acting but honestly one of the most heart-wrenching love stories and really graphic-the love scenes were wonderful and very well acted although must have been difficult and the cinematography and directing just "wow"-but just sorry to say-brutal death and dying scenes but the book and movie not kidding I was unable to put the book down, read it several times and watched the movie many times and just adore Mr. R. Fiennes acting and Mrs. K. Scott-Thomas's acting/actressing ! I am a huge fan of both and Mr. W. Dafoe's acting-there were so many fine actors/actresses-some not named it was excellent!
Amazing love story. The book is more thrilling and entertaining, I guess.
having seen bits and pieces of this film over the years, I finally watched from start to finish and am glad I did.
an engaging mix of malice, romance and mystery.
This movie is the worst. The protagonist is a Nazi collaborator sleeping with his (British) commander's wife. The cinematography was nice, but it can't make up for a terrible story.
What a long movie & I had a hard time watching it. Think I will give it a try anorher time, but for now I must return it as its due & has a hold. Will update when I re-borrow!
Absolutely boring and a waste of time. I will give the movie credit for the filmography. Considering that the movie was filmed in 1996, the movie holds up well to high definition t.v. where it relates to the special effects. I was left wondering though: "how come this movie won so many awards"?
Truly a masterpiece. Ralph Fiennes is a brilliant actor.
