Clean fun comedy. ( brings great memories ! My grandmother spent many years in the nursing home where part of this movie was shot )

Enjoyable if improbable French farce about an excellent chef who just can't get out of his own way, He has a penchant for believing he knows the right way to cook and the right food for diners instead of gauging his diners and allowing their taste to win the day. The twist is he creates great food, and so becomes the sous chef for a 3-Michelin-star restaurant headed by the wonderfully droll Jean Reno. Hilarity ensues!

A movie with no low points is hard to come by these days . The subtitles are a little quick in places but worth rewinding, and seeing J Reno in a non action role was most enjoyable . All in all it deserves three stars from michellin and five from me!

A romantic comedy when a down in luck but uncompromising chef serendipitously met his idol while trying to make ends meet as a painter at a retirement home. As they say, the rest is history. The ending was a gas.

Jean Reno is very watchable and this film is funny at times. It shows how seriously the French take their food and their Michelin stars. This came to me first and then Helen Mirren in the 100 ft journey. Very similar films, each fun in its own way.

Very entertaining. Food and love, what combination can be more French? Light and funny family movie!

What a super cute movie! I was laughing out loud at the comic genius of Jean Reno and Michael Youn! It's short and very entertaining and I would recommend it to foodies!

This is a light-hearted fable about a novice chef who gets a chance at success. If you want to see molecular gastronomy thoroughly pilloried, this is the movie for you!

Live TV show:
C-A: I think this meat is almost ready.
C-B: And look what I brought.
C-A: Rosemary?
C-B: Delicious.
C-A: What is it for?
C-B: The côte de boeuf. (The prime rib.)
C-A: No way.
C-B: Why not?
C-A: No rosemary on rib roast!
C-B: You kidding?
C-A: I will not let you ruin this. There's juice and butter. That's what counts.
C-B: Remember we're live.
C-A: I'll say it live (and moving away.)
C-B: Give me the meat.
C-A: No! It'll mask the flavor.
C-B: Come here.
C-A: No rosemary on côte de boeuf.
C-B: Come back! Where are you going?
C-A: I'd rather drown it than use rosemary.
C-B: Just a little rosemary!
C-A: Why not some thyme too? And chives!

Customers in a truck stop eatery order: Steak and fries, Meat stew and fries, herring
and some fries...
Chef: Let's get serious. Men, please. Today I suggest a butternut squash mousse with chestnut dominoes and tomato ravioli on oak leaf lettuce.
Customer: Come with fries?
Chef: It comes with beets à la paprika, watercress soup with carrot foam and a dash of Azincourt vinegar.
