You go Dav Pilkey!
From Captain Underpants to a gorgeous picture book with a diverse protagonist.
Until I read this did not realize you had written and illustrated the Halloweener!
Until I read this I had not really thought about how George from Captain Underpants is black and that those books are also diverse!
You go Dav Pilkey!

If you know the name "Dav Pilkey" and think "Captain Underpants," try to push that aside. The Paperboy is a beautifully painted, quiet story about a young African-American boy and his dog going out in the pre-dawn hours to do the boy's paper route. It's almost a set of feelings more than a story, from those quiet magical hours when it seems like you're the only one awake in the whole world. You need to see it!
